Prognostications
For 2004 I know. We are already well into 2004, but I feel the coming 11 months are going to be most critical for those of us who love freedom more than we love government. The signs on the horizon are not at all promising. Continued assaults on Individual Liberty The state, operating with already passed provisions of the Patriot Act, will continue their assaults on our liberties with the stealth plan to foist upon us even more freedom devouring provisions as listed in Patriot II. Like Hitler did following the Reichstag fire, these provisions will be enforced to protect us from terrorism and fabricated foreign threats. All the state’s shills in the media, like Rush and Hannity, will continue to call all who resist these freedom eroding acts traitors. (Read the rest here)
Don't Blame
The Immigrants President Bush's recent announcement about his changes in treatment of illegal aliens and immigration policy has met with criticism from almost the entire American political spectrum. Republican critics of the plan have pointed to the increasing burden put on the American taxpayer by the increased pressure placed on America's welfare system. Democrats worry that these immigrants will steal jobs away from American workers or cause lower health and safety standards in the workplace. Liberals and conservatives alike have not only turned a blind eye on American History but refuse to recognize the real culprit. America was built and has thrived on the strength of its immigrant population from the very beginning. Even what some consider the indigenous population of America migrated here from some other point on the globe (probably Asia). The pilgrims who landed at Plymouth Rock seeking religious freedom brought with them the ideals and energy that help set this great nation in motion. Many compatriots from Great Britain soon followed seeking freedom, fortunes and adventure. (Read the rest here)
The Provincetown
Model Why did Bush do it? I have read many accounts, most of them outraged, about Bushs bizarre acceptance of perhaps 10,000,000 foreign citizens, all of whom are in our country illegally. Many writers have accurately detailed the destructive effects this will have on American society; there are many and they are all severe.
So why?
Well, Im glad you asked, because this is a topic I know first hand.
I lived for many years in Provincetown, MA, at the tip of Cape Cod. In the time I was there the town went from a fishing village/summer tourist town to a wealthy playground/summer metropolis. It went from a community where folks still lived in the houses in which theyd been born to an exclusive residence where few who had been born there could afford to stay. During this time I was very active in local government serving on the Housing Authority, the Finance Committee and the Board of Selectmen. I saw first hand what was done and how it was done and crucial to the unfortunate change was the importation of foreign workers. (Read the rest here)
