Law School Shootings Both Dr. John R. Lott, Jr., in his book The Bias Against Guns [© 2003, Regnery Washington, D.C.] and Bernard Goldberg in his most recent book, Arrogance [© 2003, Warner New York, N.Y.] discuss the shocking media bias and factual manipulation used by the Second Amendment-hating press to advance false information to fool the public. Both authors focused upon the same astonishing media manipulation that became evident in the case of the Appalachian Law School shootings back in 2002.
Quoting from Goldbergs book, A student at the Appalachian School of Law in Grundy, Virginia, who has just been told he will be suspended for failing grades, storms through the campus, clutching a handgun. As terrorized students run for their lives, they hear him say, Come get me, come get me. But before anyone can get him, the student, a forty-two-year old immigrant from Nigeria, goes on a shooting spree, killing a dean, a professor, and a fellow student. He also shoots and wounds three other students one in the abdomen, one in the throat, and another in the chest. (Read the rest here)

Play Brer Rabbit on Medicare Is it cynical to think that the Democrats are playing Brer Rabbit in begging not to be thrown into the briar patch called Republican reform of Medicare? Maybe. But Im tempted to think it nonetheless. Democrats such as Sen. Edward M. Kennedy complain that the Republican approach to Medicare in general and prescription-drug coverage in particular is the "first step toward a total dismantling of Medicare." Their gripe is that the just-passed bill subsidizes private companies ostensibly to provide competition for the traditional fee-for-service Medicare. Well leave aside the fact that Medicare has been driving doctors into early retirement with price controls, suffocating bureaucracy, and threats of imprisonment for billing errors and other rule infractions. Well also ignore that Medicare will soon be bankrupt and will require huge tax increases. In other words, Medicare is dismantling Medicare. (Read the rest here)

Incorrect Movie Reviews: Lord Of The Rings - Return Of The King Want to make a room full of role-playing wannabes really really angry? During one of LOTR3s many ponderous ahk-tors emooooting scenes, stand up in the theatre and shout, Heyyyy where the hell is Harry Potter? Then sit back down and giggle as lonely geeks throw Pita Pockets and Twizzlers at you. Later during a barbaric war scene, stand up again and yell, Middle Earth phooey, this looks like the Middle East! To further annoy the Hobbit worshippers, every time anyone says the word Frodo, whip out a flask and chugalug. And why not? Nothing you can do can ruin LOTR3, which just may be the biggest, baddest and boldest cinematic sensation ever put on the silver screen. And the best part is that the star attraction is a CGI character so realistic that ahk-tors everywhere are wondering, Am I obsolete? Almost, my Hollyweird friend, almost just be patient preciousssss (Read the rest here)
