On October 22nd our media-orchestrated consciousness cried for immediate attention regarding the disclosure that a private, secret, highly classified, internal document originated and signed by our Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, was leaked. No! Say that isn’t so! How could that be?

How could that be indeed, considering this the most secretive, uncommunicative administration in memory, the most tyrannical police state government that has ever existed to such an extent in these United States of America? Anyone that seriously considers that memo as a “leak” should schedule themselves immediately for a brain transplant! When one considers the ultimate horror that was visited upon US on September 11, 2001, the result of the bureaucratic bungling on the part of our so-called protectors at the CIA/FBI, it is clear that a full and thorough explanation is due the American people.

We the people are constantly assailed by demands from our central government for more information about our personal lives, the lives of our families, our finances and other private matters. President Bush has refused to punish the CIA/FBI heads responsible and has also refused to release 28 pages of the Kean Commission report that would expose the incompetence of his administration.

In fact, the Kean Commission continues to struggle to get information out of this increasingly criminal-appearing administration. And although the liberal media prefer the dominance of big government, especially if a Democrat were to be in charge, they still play along with government engineered information “leaks” orchestrated by the administration.

The Rumsfeld “internal” memo “leak” was anything but that. It was a government-planned event, especially considering our current secret government. How could a leak occur in such a highly, secret government, especially an internal memo within our War Department? Clearly, it was leaked to send the required message out to dumbed-down Amerika.

Let’s take a look at some of the points Rumsfeld and his boss Bush wish to communicate to the unwashed street rabble. “My impression is that we have not yet made truly bold moves,” meaning don’t be surprised if we get tougher with the ungrateful Iraqis for having liberated them from their native resident dictator and replaced him with one of ours. And don’t be surprised if we start invading other evildoers and lesser Satans to boldly go where no decent man wants to go.

And while he’s telling US not to be surprised if the War Department increases its aggression, he also offers that we’ve already “made many sensible, logical moves in the right direction, but are they enough?” Here, the message is that we are definitely on the right track, so be patient! In other words, Rome wasn’t destroyed in a day, and “It is pretty clear that the coalition can win in Afghanistan and Iraq in one way or another, but it will be a long hard slog.” People have gotten sick of President Bush regurgitating the same imperial message, so the Rummy “leak” was definitely in order.

Examining the quotes used herein taken from the October 23rd account published by the Newark Star-Ledger in Matt Kelley’s [AP] article entitled, “Rumsfeld questions progress in terror war,” it is clear that the administration fully intended its release.

Consider the remarks made by Bush, who is normally infuriated over such leaks: “I’ve always felt that there’s a tendency of people to kind of seek a comfort zone and hope that the war on terror is over. And I view it as a responsibility of the United States to remind people of our mutual obligations to deal with terrorists.” We are not addressing the leak, but using it to remind people? Isn’t it astonishing that the mainstreamers didn’t catch this?

Now for the real bunk! Rumsfeld is quoted in Kelley’s article saying, “We’re just getting started,” referring to impending actions against a “new” terrorist connection in Iraq. And, “Today, we lack the metrics to know if we are winning or losing the global war on terror.” Huh? How did we get from Afghanistan and Iraq to the globe? Are we winning there? If we don’t know, why are we still there? No WMD, regime change accomplished, country destroyed, military destroyed, and now, “we” have to remain there until we devise an accounting system that gives us “metrics?!”

Yet it seems that Rummy has the metrics: “The cost benefit ratio is against us! Our cost is billions against the terrorists’ cost of millions.” Well said Mr. Secretary! Why do you need metrics? Only question is who is paying those billions?
