The last three weeks have been a fascinating time of renewal, discovery and connection with new people. Sometimes painful changes produce a world of good we never could imagine.

We are quite sure we have raised some eyebrows, and perhaps made a few people annoyed because we have declined to publish things that promote government interventions. This includes at least one "big name" writer who was kind enough to offer his articles and was shocked to find they were considered statist here.

And so, in talking to my partners here at The Price of Liberty, it seemed good to revisit our mission statement and say something to reinforce it.

We are tired of walking on eggs, afraid to be called "biased" or "discriminatory". We decided we are not going to be afraid of those things anymore because we ARE biased!! We ARE discriminatory! We are biased toward true liberty and the rejection of the initiation of force against anyone. We are most certainly going to discriminate on the basis of what promotes truth and liberty, Vs what does not.

Discrimination has gotten a bum rap lately, yet you could not live without it. You need to be able to distinguish between food and poison, water and air, sand and concrete. You need to have some kind of criteria for deciphering truth from lies, reality from fiction. The alternative is to wander around in the homogenized blur that is so much of modern society. The society with NO values, NO absolutes, and no liberty.

Is there a half-life in-between these places? I don't think so, at least not for myself.

We may very well make mistakes here, but we will err on the side of truth and liberty.

Give me Liberty, or give me death...
