Liberty Won't Play On
Government/Union Stage
By Dorothy Anne Seese

Government mandates and legislates.  Unions demand.  Both are antithetical to the concept of liberty as envisioned by America's founding fathers and the vision of a nation free from tyranny, open to the four freedoms of the First Amendment.  Yet we have government and union tyranny in 21st century America.

The First Amendment did not Create Any Constitutional Rights
By Robert Greenslade

The political establishment, with the aid of so-called educators, has been extremely successful in convincing the American people that the source of their individual rights are the first ten amendments to the Constitution for the United States commonly known as the Bill of Rights. Many believe that freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and freedom of speech are rights created by the First Amendment. This has resulted in these rights being called constitutional rights. The purpose of this commentary is to dispel this misconception. None of the rights enumerated in the First Amendment are constitutional rights. The sole purpose of the so-called Bill of Rights was to expand the system of limited government established by the Constitution by placing additional restraints on the powers of the federal government. We Hardly Knew Ye
By Lady Liberty

In recent days, many of us have mourned the loss of music great Johnny Cash and the sudden death of actor and comedian John Ritter. I'm no exception. I felt sorry that Cash had passed away (though his death was not unexpected), and actually shed a few tears over Ritter's demise. I even felt a small cloud over my head for a couple of days after I first heard the news. But why is that? Why do we grieve for men the vast majority of us never even met? (Read the rest here)

Disasters are No Excuse for Price Controls
by Jacob G. Hornberger

The Future of Freedom Foundation

During natural disasters such as Hurricane Isabel, state officials are often tempted to protect consumers from "price gougers, speculators, and profiteers," who are selling the things that people need most at what might be considered to be exorbitant prices. The imposition of a mandatory ceiling on prices of essential items enables state officials to portray themselves as friends of the consumers. (Read the rest here)

Who Got MY Job?!
By Janet Zeravica

Please don't be too quick to agree that medical jobs can't be exported as "free trade". Those in charge have already implemented a course of action to remedy this situation, too. In case you weren't aware, our Republic, since we couldn't keep it, has been replaced by a "Democracy". Unlike our Republican form of government, established with the blood of patriots, this "Democracy" doesn't give a flip about employing Americans. Third world immigrants are far more useful to them in their unrelenting effort to destroy our country, so foreigners are being IMPORTED and given government aid in every possible manner to take American jobs everywhere, including in all areas of the medical field, in every US city, and not merely on the Mexican border as has been the case in the past. Basic Cryptography Part 10. Block Ciphers
By Susanna Harding © 2003

All of the cypher systems we have looked at so far have been single-key character cyphers. By this, we mean that the same key which is used to encrypt the plaintext into the ciphertext is used to recover the plaintext from the ciphertext, and the cypher operates on only one character at a time. In these discussions the plaintext character space is taken to be the ASCII character set, as is the ciphertext character space. The key space is not necessarily the ASCII character set, but is a function, such that p=D(C(p)), where p is the plaintext, C is the encryption algorithm and key, and D is the decryption algorithm and key. Clearly, D is the inverse operation of C. (Read the rest here)
